COVID-19 Update for San Antonio Public Library Volunteers
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the San Antonio Public Library has put a hold on the volunteer program. This is to comply with City of San Antonio social distancing requirements implemented to keep staff and volunteers safe. The library will not be able to accept new volunteer applications until volunteer activities have resumed. Please check this site or the San Antonio Public Library Social Media channels for updates.

Get involved

The work of every volunteer supports our library system.

Volunteering can be rewarding

Volunteering just a few hours of your time each week can lead to several positive results:

  • You'll meet new people
  • Have new experiences
  • Gain valuable information about what your library has to offer
  • Gain a sense of satisfaction from helping others.
A few ways you might volunteer...

  • Check the Library's web links
  • Help keep our video, DVD and CD collections in order
  • Help others with genealogy research or help maintain our Texana information
  • Help set up exhibits
  • Keep periodical materials in order
  • Share your knowledge and talents at the Central Library or your neighborhood branch library
  • Shelve books
  • Work with special projects or maintain library materials.

Kayla Oulch - Original ArtKaylah Oulch

Kaylah Oulch, aka Circles, is a McCreless Teen Volunteer. She started volunteering in April 2019. She quickly became a staff favorite as she demonstrated an attention to detail and a maturity beyond her years. She has accumulated almost 150 volunteer hours. Kaylah is 16 years old and will be starting her junior year in the Fall at Travis Early College High School. Kaylah recently became Teen Services Volunteer Discord moderator and Dungeon Master for the Virtual D&D Zoom programs. She has enthusiastically embraced virtual programing and is contributing her imagination and creativity to the process.

We appreciate all the work that she has done to enhance Teen Services.
