I Won't Go With Strangers, by Dagmar Geisler, is a well-written, non-creepy, light-hearted, brightly illustrated look so-called "stranger danger." Lu is waiting outside school as numerous grown-ups stop by and offer to accompany her home. She politely declines as she doesn't know them. She actually is acquainted with most of them, but doesn't necessarily know them well, and, as she says, her mother told her to wait. The last person to arrive is the most disreputable-looking of all, but Lu handles him perfectly. The end-papers show the list of people with whom Lu is allowed to go without special permission from Mama and Papa, and a sample form is provided for families to consider as they make their own lists.
