Celia Cruz was born in Cuba in 1924, and she was born to sing. Her music helped sooth her thirteen brothers and sisters at bedtime and bring joy to her neighbors. She even travelled with one of her sisters across Cuba to sing in music competitions. As Celia grew up, she sang with many famous musicians in Mexico and the United States.
