The San Antonio Public Library has reopened the Collins Garden Branch Library (200 N. Park Blvd., 78204) after six months of major renovations during an Extreme Library Makeover.
The San Antonio Public Library temporarily closed Collins Garden Branch Library on June 22, 2015, for major improvements and to build a new Council 5 district field office. The upgrades and city council office will better serve the community. Improvements made to the building include: transforming the front of the building and activating the entry plaza with a modern building façade and seating, renovating the existing restrooms; expanding the front of the building by approx. 800sq ft. to add additional service space; installing new carpet and painting the walls to refresh the interior; improving the exterior sidewalk; improving computer access by adding additional computers; creating designated spaces for children and teens, creating a new flex room for meetings.
The San Antonio Public Library will host a family-friendly grand opening celebration on Saturday, January 30, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Join us for exciting activities and programs, and to check out the new Council 5 district field office.
San Antonio Public Library’s Extreme Library Makeover Initiative began in 2013.
